Prior to your entry into the Whole Body Chamber (WBC), you will be provided with a full explanation of the process, benefits, safety instructions, and any needed protective wear. Protective wear is required and consists of; beanie (or ear protectors), mittens, slippers or booties, gym shorts, sports bra or light top for women, and a breathing mask. You are welcome to bring your own protective wear but in the case you don’t, we have items available for your use at no additional cost. Please refer to What to Wear for more information. No moist or wet clothing will be allowed in the WBC.
Our WBC can accommodate 1-2 clients at time, and we often offer specials, so bring family members, teammates, or friends to share your experience.
Cold air therapy in the WBC is a fresh, dry, and oxygenated air. Because there is a decreased amount of moisture (humidity), this makes the WBC much more comfortable compared to an ice bath or immersion bath. During the treatment, your skin temperature will decrease potentially to 45 degrees over 2 to 3 minutes inside the chamber. Our staff is constantly monitoring your treatment session for maximum safety. We monitor and record skin temperatures before and after each treatment session.
Recommendations for future treatment session exposure times are based on each client’s specific results. Each individual responds differently to cold and skin temperatures and your response will be monitored and your treatment adjusted accordingly. After exiting the chamber, you will complete a short cardio warming activity, usually 5-10 minutes. This consists of utilizing a stationary bike, treadmill, elliptical or rower. After your WBC, you can expect full range of motion in your soft tissue and joints. The results are amazing as you will be left feeling thoroughly rejuvenated.
